This picture captures a day in the life of the people, living in a remote village in the state of Orissa, India. This village is located on a thin sandbar with the brackish water lake Chilika on one side and the Bay of Bengal on the other. Though surrounded by salt water, the ground water is still sweet! The catch is that the secretion rate is painfully low. so, these people dig pits in the sandbar and wait for hours together to get a single glass of drinking water. Extremely tough lives.
